Special Needs Bowling
As I remembered this morning that we were going to The Bowling Alley to help with special needs, i got really nervous, but excited that i was going to miss school haha.. but more worried about bowling, questions started popping up in my mind like "why are we going?" "who am i gonna get?".. but when we got their and i was assigned to Lane 17 i walked up and meet four older ladies, at first i was overwhelmed by them, they were go excited to see me i didn't know what to do.. And as we started bowling, i just did the best i could to encourage them and help them.. than i realized about half way through the morning that they are not that much different from any of us, they like to compete, and they get excited when they do good, and upset when they don't, one of my ladies would even cuss and flip off the screen if she did bad haha so i was just here to encourage them.. Ashley also walked over sometime in the morning and took a picture of me and one of the ladies.. it was precious, as lunch got closer i was glad to have a break when i went to leave for lunch, like three of my ladies were like "are you coming back?" and really were concerned about where i was going or if i was coming back.. so we went to Chick-fil-a and came back and we started bowling again, when i got back I was excited to see them.. the day ended and as i was leaving one of my ladies asked if i could send her the picture we took together and i said yes so she gave me her address.. its so sweet, but as i was leaving all my ladies come over to me and talked to me and said that they had a good time! :)
I have typed all of this to say... i really enjoyed going, it was a different experience but definitely paid off, this made me realize that people out there are under privileged and don't get some of the opportunities that we get.. why? i don't know, but its a sad thing to think about..
Anyways, i hoped i made an impact on the people at special needs bowling and they see our servants hearts and God is revealed to them!
Thanks for taking us Mr. Mendenhall :)
